Ty’s email – 3/25/11

Sweet I’m really glad you guys got it and I got all your stuff Thank you so much.

Oh and 4 people from my district have got visas and many more in other districts. So I’m hoping that the Fullmer name will be called from the speaker in the sky. There is an intercom system that they have installed and so that’s how we find out. It seems like if pattern follows I’ll be next, so keep me in your prayers.

My days here are pretty regimented. We wake up around sixish and get ready, whether that’s to gym or class, then we have breakfast. Its kinda hard to give you my exact schedule because it changes. but we have two teachers that each come once a day and if they are not in teaching, we are not in gym, or eating then its personal or comp study.

All my room mates loved your box by the way.

So my teachers are really great and we go to a place called the TRC where we contact and teach in Portuguese. You guys are the only ones that have sent letters so far.

I do love it here, I sang in the choir for the last fireside, crazy right. We sang “Be still my soul” and I really did enjoy it so its kinda weird that I did.

Its really strict but it’s really nice and the firesides are great we just had Elder Costa come and it was way cool, that’s the one I was in the choir for.

We went to the temple today and one of the sisters in the district just happened to be in the same session as her mom, who just happened to go on our day, and she just happened to see her friends on our temple walk last Sunday. Other than that it’s amazing.

From the time we got into the temple and out it had started snowing and got a couple inches on the ground. Sundays are nice and relaxed but still way cool. We have to prepare a talk every Sunday even though we might not give it, and starting our second week it’s all in your mission language. Good thing the next 2 weeks are fast Sunday and conference.
Well love you all.
Eu sei que o Livro de Mormon e verdaje e Jesus Critso e o fihlo de deus e meu redentor.

I miss you guys and I love you if I get my visa than ill be calling you guys so if a way random number comes up it might be me.

Love,
Elder Fullmer

Ty’s email – 3/19/11

Bom Dia Familia,

OK so first I only have 30 min so if its short I’m sorry.

My address is
Elder Tyler Ross Fullmer
MTC mailbox #97
bra-flo 0516
2005 n. 900. E
Provo, Utah 84604-1793
so you can mail me at that address.

Ok for the real stuff…its going really well here I love it. My teachers are great and we are already praying and baring our testimony, with some notes, In Portuguese. I really can’t believe I’m here and everyone in my district is great, plus half of them are like copies of people i know from home.

You have got to tell Scotty that I met his double, he’s not my comp though and sadly I’m not district leader but I am the senor comp, for the next 2 weeks and then we switch. My comps name is Elder Zachary Torres from grants pass, most of the elders and sisters are either from Oregon or Washington. Anyways he’s pretty cool, gets kind of obnoxious sometimes but other than that we’ve helped each other out quite a bit.

There’s 13 of us, 8 guys and 5 girls. The four of us in my room are all going to Florianopolis the rest are mostly going to Sao Paulo somewhere. One of the Elders just got his visa and he leaves in a few days. Life is pretty crazy busy lunch and dinners are amazing breaks in the schedule. We get put in the same room for hours on end which would seem good for memorization but it’s really not, I go kinda crazy in that room sometimes.

I’m doing laundry right now so we’ll see how well me and my comp did on our first time. Its way odd walking around and seeing everyone in suits and dresses…..and of course those nice name tags.

This sounds way cliché but the sprit is way strong here I can’t even believe it. It’s nice being with people that have your same goal and mind but are still so different that you can still learn a lot from everyone. The girls in our district are kind of showing us up on that language side of things and that might be because half of them are majoring in Spanish, but like I said we are all moving along well.

I miss you guys, that’s funny that Connor has already took over my computer. I can’t wait till I’m able to get out into the field and go to work. SO GET ME THE YELLOW YELLOW FEVER CARD. Just go to DFM and ask for one because I didn’t get one. Well it’s about time to go. My P-days are mostly going to be on Fridays so that’s when you guys should be getting the emails. I’m going to try and write a letter as well. Oh and sorry i wasn’t able to send any pictures we haven’t had time as I said its crazy busy but I will be send them soon.

I love you all and can’t wait to hear from you soon. Get my address to Scotty or anyone else who wants it. Well time to get back to the work.

Love you,

Elder Tyler Fullmer

Elder Tyler Fullmer – The final moments

Elder Tyler Fullmer – From the airport

An excursion early in the morning led us to Portland International Airport to drop Elder Tyler Fullmer to catch a plane to the Missionary Training Center in Provo. Elder Fullmer has had some visa issues getting over to Brazil so for the time being he has been sent to Provo to begin training. So far from what we have heard he is doing well and picking up some Portuguese. Here are some pictures from the airport.
